The Uwharrie Reader’s Theatre is The Uwharrie Players' new program to give an easy way for new people to get involved, but also a fun way for regular UP members to get another way to perform. No memorization is needed, you’ll be reading from the script. There will be a few rehearsals because it is still a performance, not just a reading. The Uwharrie Reader’s Theatre will also provide a chance to do some possibly more edgy plays and try out new plays before they go to the main stage with The Uwharrie Players.

The other purpose of the Uwharrie Reader’s Theatre is to travel to bring performances to other parts of Stanly County. We want everyone in Stanly County to know The Uwharrie Players is for all of Stanly County, not just Albemarle.

Admission to these performances are free, but we would love a donation to help make these events possible!
